Leaving the Smorgasbord

Yes ... it was fun, but I thought it was about to finally leave the smorgasbord !!!

This past weekend some friends from MN came back to the area for a work related trip and decided (thankfully) to tack on a little fun time. They spent the weekend with us in Albany. Brad, Shelley and the girls met up w/ us on Saturday at five rivers where we had a picnic lunch, walked trails ... and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Check out the pic of the guy driving around w/ a Red Sox Flag on his car while in N.Y. Proudly letting it flap in the breeze. Smiling and laughing it up, without a care. I mean, seriously, who does that?? Oh wait, it's Brad and Shelley !!!

Later that night it was dinner, dessert, cards and .... guitar hero. I was shocked to learn that I'm not so good at guitar hero. I spent the nights since then practicing ... I'm still not so good ... unlike Christina who **ROCKS**, but more on that later !!!

Here are some pics from the weekend:

Okay, so after a really nice day (and weekend), this is what we came home to !! Boston Red Sox post-its all over the wall in the basement. I think they spelled out 'RED SOX'. I wonder who's to blame for this distasteful graffiti. We called the authorities and they dusted for prints. There's a storm coming ....

Sunday Smorgasbord

The Zal's had a potluck on Sunday night. The food was amazing and (big surprise here) I ate too much. For the record, Rebekah and Brad were there too, but they somehow managed to escape my camera ... I'll get them next time. **Comfort food** seemed to be the unofficial theme, which was perfect for a cold, windy night in the Capital Region.
(*Note - Julie, don’t forget that I need that mac N cheese recipe. I'm sure it's like 10,000 calories and my doctor wouldn't approve, but I really don't care.... I NEED it !)

We missed you Christina ....

Belated Birthday Bowling Bash

On Saturday, Jackson had his friends help him celebrate his 7th birthday party (finally, I know). Along for the fun were his cousins (Jacob and Amelia)and two of his friends from school (Aidan and Ian). Here are some of the pics.
